At this time we feel it is still our spot too and who knows that might never change. We left something so if you find the spot you will know. And by the way it will cover your expenses if that is what you thought. Leave us a note as we will be around. No need to make extra arrangements

You could still work on the poem to find out what was left at that special  place

Thanks goldhunter Thats where I got the “found it, moved it, left something of value in the original spot” memory. Maybe I’m not so foolish after all.

It ain’t over til it’s over. Those who want to keep solving the riddle I want to encourage to keep on going. There is nothing more satisfying than doing it by yourself. Anybody else telling you the solution wouldn’t be the same. I can provide a little hint which is not really news or a secret as it is part of the poem and part of the most recent public picture of the chest.

Remember Mr Fenn’s words:

“It is interesting to know that a great number of people are out there searching. Many are giving serious thought to the clues in my poem, but only a few are in tight focus with a word that is key.”

The tight focus with a word that is key was a hot topic for a while. The Salmon of Knowledge says that word is, was, and always will be—I(eye) It unlocks the meaning of the first stanza and gives you WWWH, the first clue.

IMO. - there is a word in the 1st stanza - "alone" - that ties into this statement/article/etc.

But I also think "paddle" (figuratively speaking, of course) is another helpful word.

Thanks for responding.

I thought "alone" was a reference to Solo NM. It did seem important.
