What is it? Help in identifying treasures found
Okay everyone....as a sidestep while discussing f8nd a treasure....let's talk about the treasures you have actually found.
I'll start with this $15.00 pottery bowl. I suspect it is an early 20th C. Santa Domingo Pueblo or Kewa Pueblo seed bowl due to the polychrome paint used, but also the floral motif was prevalent in other pottery made by these folks.
What do you all think it is? I am no expert in Native American art, but living in ABQ fir over 20m...I have slowly learned a few things over the years, but the pottery and otif designs can be tricky to decipher.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance!

Seed pots usually had a lid to keep vermin out. Or a small hole just big enough to put seeds through. A good way to tell if it is old is to sniff it, if it's old it will have a musty smell like a damp basement. The clay has some degree of porosity, so it absorbs some moisture and mold forms in the pores.
There are a few spots that shows moisture seeped or reached into the clay. See these pics.
I agree with if agreed pot would have a lid...I think it may have gott len separated from the bowl - But again, I have no clue.
Here is another...
TBH - I find not only the colors striking, but the brushstrokes and bright motif.
The clay looks to be proper, but this is where I am lost.
*shrugs*
It is a very cool bowl to me and will add real to my small collection I had started with Maya replicas.
Sooo....I understand pictures don't give the justice it needs....but I hope they can help steered in the right direction.
Thanks for responding.
Please remember....I only paid $15.00.
